There is something almost irresistible to a child about a little space that feels like it belongs entirely to them.
A blanket fort. A cardboard box. A playhouse. A secret corner behind the couch.
Now imagine that special hideaway inside the Christmas tree. 🎄
That is the idea behind the Magical Underland® Christmas Tree Tent—a 6-foot Christmas tree and children's play tent combined into one magical indoor experience.
And sometimes the best explanation of the product is simply watching what children do when they see it:
They go straight inside.
A Christmas Tree Kids Are Allowed to Touch
For generations, parents have decorated beautiful Christmas trees and then spent December reminding little ones:
“Don't touch the tree!”
Magical Underland® turns that familiar Christmas experience around.
Instead of creating a tree children need to stay away from, we created one designed to invite them into the experience.
Children can crawl through the entrance and discover their own Christmas hideaway underneath the branches.
It's a place for pretending, reading, playing, telling stories and making memories.
And yes—sometimes it's simply fun to crawl in and out again and again. ❤️
Why Are Children So Attracted to Play Tents?
Children don't need elaborate instructions to enjoy a play tent.
Give them a small space and their imagination often does the rest.
Today it might be a Christmas hideaway.
Tomorrow it could become Santa's workshop, a secret clubhouse, a reading nook, a pretend home or the starting point for an entirely new adventure.
This kind of open-ended imaginative play gives children the freedom to create their own stories rather than having every part of the experience decided for them.
That's one reason a play tent can remain interesting long after the first excitement of opening a new toy has passed.
Christmas Décor That Becomes Part of Playtime
One of the things that makes the Magical Underland® Christmas Tree Tent unusual is that it isn't designed only to be looked at.
The 6-foot Christmas Tree Tent combines the visual magic of a Christmas tree with an indoor play space children can actually enter.
Decorate it for the holidays and suddenly the Christmas tree becomes part of the family's activities.
Imagine Christmas story time inside the tree.
A cozy afternoon hideaway.
A special place to wait for Santa.
Or that unforgettable moment when a child first realizes:
“I can go INSIDE the Christmas tree?!”
That's the reaction we created Magical Underland® for.
From Christmas Tree to Year-Round Play Tent
Christmas may only come once a year, but children's imaginations don't have a season.
The Magical Underland® concept was designed with two interchangeable looks, allowing families to enjoy the structure as a play tent beyond the Christmas season.
That means the same special space can continue inspiring reading, pretend play and adventures throughout the year—and then transform back into a magical Christmas Tree Tent when the holidays return.
Instead of another toy that disappears into a closet after a few weeks, our goal was to create something that could become part of childhood traditions.
An Educational Christmas Gift Built Around Imagination
The Magical Underland® Christmas Tree Tent has also received STEM.org Authenticated™ recognition and the Best In STEM™ Distinction — Top 5% Award Seal.
For us, that recognition is meaningful because imagination and learning were always part of the vision.
The experience can encourage opportunities around:
Science • Technology • Engineering • Mathematics • Collaboration • Creativity • Problem Solving
Children aren't sitting inside thinking, “I'm doing STEM now.”
They're doing something much more natural:
They're playing.
And through play, they're imagining, experimenting, creating stories and discovering possibilities.
The Idea Started With One Little Girl
Magical Underland® didn't begin in a corporate product-development meeting.
It began at home.
When my daughter Laura was six months old, she pulled on our Christmas tree and it nearly fell.
That moment made me think about something parents experience every Christmas.
We create this beautiful, magical object in the middle of our homes—and then spend weeks telling our youngest children not to touch it.
I started wondering:
What if we made a Christmas tree for children instead?
One they could touch.
One they could explore.
And most importantly, one they could actually go inside.
That simple question eventually became the Magical Underland® Christmas Tree Tent.
From an Idea to Children Crawling Inside
Seeing children interact with the Christmas Tree Tent is still one of my favorite parts of this journey.
They don't need someone standing beside the product explaining what makes it different.
They see the opening.
They see a little world inside.
And they explore.
Moments like the one in this photo remind me why I kept working through prototypes, manufacturing, testing, patents, factory visits and all the challenges that come with bringing a completely new product to life.
The magic isn't only the Christmas tree.
The real magic is what children imagine inside it.
A Different Kind of Christmas Gift for Kids
Parents searching for the best Christmas gifts for kids often face the same challenge: finding something exciting on Christmas morning that won't be forgotten a few weeks later.
Experiences can be different.
A special reading spot.
A pretend clubhouse.
A Christmas tradition.
A place associated with family stories and holiday memories.
That's what we hope Magical Underland® becomes for families.
Because one day children will outgrow their toys.
But they may always remember the Christmas when they had a tree they could crawl inside. 🎄❤️
